I am a professional photographer running my own business ‘Cornish Landscape Photography’. I currently supply my images as/for Framed Prints, Mounted Print, Canvases and Cards to 28 Cornish Galleries/Shops and Post Offices.
I began to take photography seriously 12 years ago whilst studying an evening course in the subject at Cornwall College. My work has since received numerous awards including Best Landscape at the Bristol International Salon of Photography twice and 1st place in 3 or the 4 Professional Sections (Wild, Heritage and Iconic) in the 2009 DK Books Photographic Competition. They have also won awards and been published in numerous local and national Magazines, Calendars and Books. As well as being featured in Newspapers such as the Sunday Independent and Western Morning News and at numerous local and national exhibitions
The vast majority of my images are of my native Cornwall, where I am based (near Redruth) within an hour’s drive of 90% of the counties coastline. This enables me to visit the most photogenic locations Cornwall has to offer at the best times of day and year on a regular basis. The emphasis is on the quality of light with the so-called golden hours being exploited regularly (the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset).
I also enjoy travelling to the most photogenic locations in Britain and abroad. Recent trips include the Yorkshire Dales, Snowdonia and Peak District National Parks. Images from these trips as well as from the trips to the Scottish Highlands, South Downs, Northumberland and Lake District that I have planned for 2011/12 are/will be available to view in the gallery section of this site.
For the last five years I’ve been capturing and printing most of my images digitally. Many of the images on this site however were captured prior to this using Canon 35mm film cameras. These slides have been scanned and are included in my range of professionally printed images which are available to buy.
